People from the city, the suburbs, the country, and everywhere in between. We’re an eclectic mix of people from different vocations, different life experiences, different political views, and diverse interests. We are an inter-generational church with people of all ages. We find common ground in following Jesus. We believe that Jesus offers a new way of life that centers on peacemaking in the world. That’s why we focus on bringing justice to people who are hurting. We value love, kindness, and curiousity rather than judging or condemning others. And we walk together humbly, knowing that nobody has it all figured out, and we’re all in this journey together.
Whether you’ve been here 20 times or this is your first time, every aspect of worship should be accessible to you. Typically our worship band will lead us in music, the worship leader and pastor will lead us on a centering ourselves so we can be open to the Holy Spirit, prayer, and passing the peace. Our pastor will offer a message from a Bible passage, and we’ll respond to God with another song. Because we value relationships as a priority, we dedicate time during the service to sharing our prayer requests with each other, and then praying for what was requested. We begin worship at 10:00am, and usually wrap up around 11:15am.
We usually serve communion the first Sunday of every month. In the Reformed Church in America (the larger group of churches that we’re connected to), we have an open table, which means that anyone who desires to follow Jesus is welcome at the table. Most often we serve communion by inviting people to come forward to take a piece of bread and small cup of juice. We use 100% gluten-free bread and grape juice so that there are no divisions at God's table.
For families with newborns through three years of age, we have a fully staffed nursery. Nursery-adged hildren may be dropped off upon arrival, and picked up after the service.
We value the experience of families worshiping together, so the beginning of the service is designed to allow children to experience some elements of worship with their families. Halfway through the service, children ages 3-10 are invited up front to share a blessing with the congregation. They are then dismissed to go to their Worship Centers. Worship centers are age specific gatherings where our volunteer teachers will offer the children a worship experience that is tailored to their age groups.
During summer months and holiday weekends, children ages 6-10 stay in the sanctuary with quiet activities provided.
Dress in what makes you comfortable and come as you are. We are a casual group of people, and the most important thing for us is that you are able to connect with God just as you are. We value authenticity over formality. We believe that when we are real with each other in every way, the most meaningful relationships will be built.
