Meet the Ministry Investment Team

For the past few years the Strategic Advisory Board, Elders, Deacons, and Stewardship team have been working tirelessly to lay the groundwork for a momentous change at The Community Church in Ada. We discerned a property sale, arranged a parking lease with the township, revamped our budget so that expenses meet revenue, and most importantly – we clarified and focused our mission and vision.  We are now ready to move ambitiously forward.

To help the congregation discern what God is calling us to next, the Consistory has put in place the Ministry Investment Team. To see the full job description and timeline for the team, click here. The objective of the team is not to figure this out on their own, but to engage the significant resources within our congregation and community to discern a way forward together.

This is where your responsibility comes: A top objective for the team is to engage as many within the congregation as possible in this process.  But the reality is that they may not know of your particular passions, ideas, and skills.  If you have ideas, thoughts, or skills to offer the team in this process, please take responsibility and seek out a team member to begin the discussion.  You can email team chairperson Kendra Kuo at any time.

We are excited for a season of change and growth at The Community Church in Ada.

Here are the team members:

Kendra Kuo: Team Chair Person

“I joined the Ministry Investment Team for many reasons, but the main reason is quite simply that I love our church. God has blessed The Community Church with caring, authentic and fun people! The   property sale funds open some doors for our congregation to better serve and connect with our neighbors. ”

Martin Waalkes

“I am excited to help The Community plan to invest in a vision for how we will engage with our neighbors and serve as Christ’s witness in Ada and beyond. We have worked for years to refine and live into these ideas as the village has transformed. I am eager to see these plans supported here with a sustainable strategy.”

Zack Schaff

“As an architect and resident of Ada, I am excited to be able to help further integrate and engage the church with the changing village.”

Mark Luehmann

Mark brings a missional and community focused perspective, helping to guide the team in outside-the-box thinking when it comes to being the church.

Adam Kinder

“I spend my days sifting through numbers to figure out the story that they’re telling, having started my career in public accounting and spending the last several years serving in executive leadership for two different organizations.  If my appearance tells a story, hopefully it says that I don’t mind pushing the status quo.  I’m humbled and excited to push beyond the status quo and see where God may take us on this journey as we explore combining new resources, meeting and identifying needs and what it means to live in both a spirit of stewardship and overflowing generosity.”

Billy Norden

“Hospitality and innovation are two of the key passions I bring to the team.  While most churches in North America are in decline, we have the opportunity to grow more vibrant by thinking creatively and taking risks.”
